Handball: Nigeria lose to Egypt in Second IHF World Junior Championships

Nigeria U21 male handball team fell at the hands of the Pharaohs of Egypt in their second group B fixture of the IHF World Junior Championships.

The loss has seen Nigeria play two games without a win as they conceded against France on matchday one by a scoreline of 48: 19 before losing to a fellow African side 47: 30 at the As Travesas Sports Hall.
Nigeria came into this match in a bid to rebuild their campaign after an embarrassing loss to France but their hopes of doing so have been melted by a solid Egypt side.
In a match that seemed balanced from the onset, Nigeria took a 3: 0 lead five minutes into the match. As the game progressed, Egypt began to find their form and rhythm as goalie Abdelrahman Taha Ali made 14 saves against Nigeria while other Egyptian players registered their name on the scoresheet.
Mohsen Ramadan Mahmoud and Shehab Abdalla Ahmed recorded eight goals each while Galal Ayman Khorshid who was the best player of the match registered nine goals.
Things did not get better for Nigeria as Anthony Ngbede Agada saw red for a clumsy challenge and added to a growing list of concerns the team must look into before resuming their campaign against the Republic of Korea on Friday, July 19, 2019.
