Heartland coach Ilechukwu says NPFL return should be secondary for now

Coach of Nigeria Professional Football League side Heartland FC Fidelis Ilechukwu has stated that the return of league football should be secondary for now as the nation continues to combat the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Ilechukwu speaking in a chat with Cornerstonenewsng.comsaid not until a clear breakthrough is recorded in the battle against the Coronavirus pandemic, talks about the return of league football should be secondary at this point not with the scary reports of new cases coming up from different part of the country where football will be played.
“The most important thing is life, see what is happening in Kano. Nobody should be talking about league in this condition. We’re not supposed to be talking about that.
“What we should be talking is praying for the country, finding the way to cure and solve the problem of this virus before we talk about league. But if at the end of the day we get the solution, if you like if we want to play in three days, I don’t mind.”
