Suspected herdsmen have abducted three persons between Ubulu-Uku and Ogwashi-Uku communities in Aniocha South Local Government Area of the State and it has created palpable fear in the communities.
One of them, a female, Awele Udeh, it was gathered, was kidnapped last Friday in company with two others, while two others escaped ,Awele was not lucky as she was taken away by the kidnappers.
A youth leader from Ubulu-Uku, Paul Maduagwu, told Daily Sun that on the fateful Friday, the young Ubulu-Uku girl in her early twenties was reportedly kidnapped by gunmen between Ubulu-Uku and Isah-Ogwashi Road. The young lady from a family in Agbonta street in Ubulu-Uku, was attacked alongside two other Ubulu-Uku youths who were in the same vehicle returning from a Bachelor’s party hosted in the community. They hoped to return for the wedding on Saturday ,but this was not possible as they were attacked.
“Two persons escaped unhurt, but one person sustained very serious machete wounds. The kidnappers who are with the telephone of the female victim, have communicated the family of the young lady and have demanded for a N5 million ransom. The kidnappers who have Fulani accent have threatened to kill the girl as at on Sunday if the ransom is not paid. The family members are afraid as they may not be able to raise as much as the money demanded.

“We are appealing to the State Commissioner of Police, Hafiz Inuwa and Commander Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) to rescue the victim and fish out the kidnappers. We were being killed at the Isele-Uku -Ubulu-Uku road, so we abandoned that route and decided to be following the Ogwashi-Uku road, the hoodlums have traced us to the road again.
“Two of our sons are critically ill in the hospital following the Friday attack and our daughter’s life is in danger. We are sending a save-our-souls to the police to do the needful and save us from the hands of the herders who want to finish us. We are also appealing to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to wade into the matter to see that the herders are totally flushed out of the bushes from where they attack victims. Our lives are in danger “
