HIFL: “We must make it to the final,” Says Assistant Coach of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti After 1-1 Draw With FUTA Tigers

The opening game of the Higher Institution Football League from the Lagos center in Lagos State University Sports Complex and ended in a share of the spoils as Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD) came from a goal down to level matters to the delight of the coach.

“I’m really grateful for the win. We started the game without concentration but then in the second half we had to change our tactics which worked for us and we got the point,” said the assistant coach of ABUAD, Ojo Ige Sunday.

The result sees both teams with a loss of two points pending the result of the second game in the group but the coach is, however, looking forward to the team’s next game already knowing how important a win is to the teams’ chances of qualifying to the next round.
“Yes, I’ll be making changes to the team and that’s why we came here with maximum players available. The management has given us all we need in terms of feeding, logistics, gave us what we want and that’s why we want to justify that,” Sunday said.

“Last season we weren’t really prepared for the competition but this time around, against all odds we must make it to the final,” the coach said as regards the target of the team in the HIFL 2021 competition.
