Odion Ighalo scored late in Changchun Yatai’s Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at home to Chongqing Lifan in the Chinese Super League.
It was Changchun’s third defeat in five games and their Nigerian striker could not lift them on the day.
The club remain in 11th position with 31 points from 27 games.
Meanwhile, for Ighalo his goal tally is on a steady increase; Saturday’s strike brings his number in the league this season to 21.
He’s just two shy of top scorer Wu Lei of Shanghai SIPG, who has 23 goals and his club sit top of the table.
