Ike Shorunmu remembers Keshi, talks about his love for home-based players

Former Nigeria goalkeeper, Ike Shorunmu has emotionally spoken of his late boss Stephen Keshi, describing him as a real man and true ‘Big Boss’ who love home-based players.

Shorunmu who worked with the former Hawks of Togo gaffer spoke with Cornerstonenewsng.comfour years after the demise of the late Super Eagles coach and skipper.

 

In the conversation, Shorunmu said Keshi remains the only National team handler who loves and gave the most opportunities to Nigerian players in the local league.

 

“His legacies are there, no one has matched it since he left, Shorunmu said.

 

“You can testify to this when Keshi was with the National team, our league here was interesting because all of the players will want to play very well to be invited to the national team,”

 

‘It is sad that since he left, no one has done so much with the home-based players.
