Ikon Installed As National President of KSJI
The Order of Knights of St. John International (KSJI) Nigeria has installed Prof (Sir) Michael Ikon as its Supreme Subordinate (National) President in Nigeria.

The event took place during the weekend, at Daughters of Divine Love Retreat and Conference Centre (DRACC), Enugu, during the KSJI Supreme Subordinate Board meeting.

Speaking after the installation, Professor Michael Ikon, thanked members of the Board for the confidence reposed on him and promised to live up to the tenets of the Order and indeed the Catholic faith, and be guided by the love of Christ and humility of Mother Mary.

Speaking further, he urged the over 18,000 Knights and Ladies of KSJI in Nigeria to “unite and work harder in order to achieve the evangelization task of our Noble Order”.

Thereafter, Prof Ikon immediately made the following appointments; Sir. Peter Osamgbi, Chief of Staff to Supreme Subordinate President, and Director of Publicity, Sir. Dan Odey, ADC to the Supreme Subordinate President, Sir Cosmas Effiong, Personal Assistant to the Supreme Subordinate President, and Sir Cosmas Chikwendu, Legal Adviser to the Board.

Prof Ikon, who hails from Akwa-Ibom State, is a lecturer in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, has over the years, served the Order in various capacities with aplomb; he was Charter Grand President, Calabar Grand Commandery, former Grand Master Bishop Okoye Chapter of Chevaliers, Former 2nd Vice Supreme Subordinate President, Nigeria, and 1st Vice Supreme Subordinate President, Nigeria.

KSJI is a family apostolate charged with the defence of the Roman Catholic faith and came to Nigeria in 1976. It has a membership of over 18,000 Knights and their Ladies.

The Order exists in the USA, England, Germany, Canada, Trinidad, and Tobago, as well as in other African countries like Kenya, Ghana, Togo, Sierra Leone and Liberia.
