Ikpeba reveals Wenger’s impact on his football career

Former Super Eagles forward Victor Ikpeba has credited Arsene Wenger as the biggest influence in his football career, describing the former AS Monaco Manager as “a good man”.

Ikpeba hit the lime light with AS Monaco, where he worked under Wenger, whom he told brila he owes his success as a footballer to.

“I will say from my heart, thanks to Wenger (Arsene) you know,” Ikpeba said.

“He gave me that opportunity to play in AS Monaco, may be I wouldn’t have been the African footballer of the year, may be, I might never have had the opportunity to be with the team that went to the 1994 World Cup also the team that won the Olympics so, I’m really grateful for that man; he’s a good man and a good human being.

“And I’m sure he’s missing football right now, I think he’s done his own beat.”
