Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi has stated that the Super Eagles will face a tough game from a star-studded Polish side but is hopeful of victory in Friday’s international friendly in Wroclaw, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
World Cup-bound Poland will host the Super Eagles at the Municipal Stadium, Wroclaw from 8.45pm tonight.
And, Iwobi who should be in action for the Super Eagles on Friday, said he and his teammates will give their all to get a positive result.
“Obviously, it’s going to be a difficult match because they’ve got a lot of star players,” Iwobi said in an interview from Wroclaw.
“We are going to do our best. Obviously the aim of the game is to win and that’s what we will try to do and hopefully we will get a good result.”
Iwobi described the friendly against another European team, Serbia, on Tuesday as a welcome development for the Super Eagles.
He added: “We can’t wait (to also face Serbia). There is no other better way because we have been playing a lot of African teams so playing against European teams to prepare ourselves for the World Cup is good. We are going to prepare ourselves and do our best.”
And on staying injury-free before the World Cup kicks off in June, the Arsenal star said: “There’s a lot of responsibility before that. I am trying my best to prepare myself and keeping fit. So I will plan myself the same way I plan for my club and country and hopefully I will be fit for the World Cup.”
