Cenk Tosun saved the blushes of Alex Iwobi, whose blunder saw Everton go behind against Tottenham in a keenly contested Premier league game at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Iwobi’s misplaced pass was latched on by Heung-min Son, who set up Dele Alli for the game’s first goal (63′).
However, Spurs were reduced to 10-men after Son clashed with Everton Midfielder André Gomes and the latter came out worse off with a broken ankle.
Best wishes Andre Gomez. Hope you recover and get back on the pitch no matter the time it takes. pic.twitter.com/v4PG1q7zxK

As a result, Match Referee Martin Atkinson awarded the teams 12 minutes additional time for stoppages.
That incident overshadowed the Nigerian’s howler, but didn’t change the scoreline until substitute Tosun headed home in additional time (90+7′) to beat Spurs goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga, who had been excellent all night.
From some of the most piss poor officiating to an injury that had the entire footballing community shook. Get well soon Andre Gomez
also, we all know that wasn’t a red card, and it just happened to be the least malicious person on the pitch. Gotta feel bad for Sonny #EVETOT pic.twitter.com/JS7oZqxVBz — Alejandro Chief Inspector (@vinemlove) November 3, 2019
The draw leaves Everton still hovering just above the drop zone and Marco Silva’s job hanging in the balance.
