Izu Umunne hails Edo Election, congratulates Obaseki, others

The Izu Umunne, a political pressure group has congratulated everyone who played one role or the other in the just concluded Edo State 2020 Governorship Elections.


The group said it was happy with the success of the election and the conduct of the people especially the Edo people, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), His Royal Highness, the Oba of Benin, Omo N’oba N’ Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II and his chiefs.
The group also said it was also happy with the Security agencies, the political parties, and all who contributed in making the election peaceful and successful.

In a statement issued by it’s National President Mr. Cosmas Aligwekwe, Izu Umunne urges INEC to consolidate on this success story and ensure that future elections including the forthcoming Ondo State 2020 governorship election are equally peaceful and credible.

“This election has rekindled the hope of Nigerians in the electoral process and restored the confidence of the International Election Observers and the international community that Nigeria is on the path of rebuilding its political system and electoral process to make the vote of the electorate to count.

” Izu Umunne advises governor Godwin Obaseki to reciprocate the confidence the good people of Edo State have reposed on him and see his re-election as an opportunity to reposition the State on the path of sustainable development with conscious state policy on human empowerment and youth development. That way, he would have confirmed to them that he deserved their mandate”.
