Jericho To Make WWE Return In ‘Casket Match’ Against Undertaker

Former World Wrestling Entertainment champion Chris Jericho has promised to “bury” The Undertaker after his stunning return to WWE was confirmed on Thursday night.

Jericho, 47, will replace Rusev to face the Dead Man in a Casket Match at the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia in a fortnight.

Veteran Undertaker showed he had lost none of his powers last Sunday as the 53-year-old defeated John Cena at WrestleMania in his first fight for a year.

Fans will not have to wait as long to see him in action again with the Phenom now set to do battle in the Middle East on April 27.

Rusev was the man originally scheduled to grapple the legend, but now WWE chiefs have secured free agent Jericho’s services.

Jericho already has a number of victories over Taker to his name and does not seem to be too overawed about going one-on-one with him again.

And the first-ever WWE Undisputed Champion has even vowed that he will become the “King of the Casket Match” by triumphing at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah.

He tweeted: “I beat #TheUndertaker for @wwe title before. At #GreatestRoyalRumble, I’m gonna BURY his ass… #KingOfTheCasketMatch.”

The only way to win the gruesome match is to stuff your opponent inside the coffin and shut the lid.

Jericho appeared in a backstage segment at the Raw 25th anniversary show in January but last fought in June in a triple threat match for the US Title against AJ Styles and Kevin Owens.
