Jigawa Stars Determined to End Winless Start to NPFL Season – Issah

It has been a difficult start to life in the NPFL for newly promoted Jigawa Golden Stars as they continue to chase their first point.

Two games and two defeats for Rabiu Tata’s team leaves them 19th position in the standings ahead of their date against Delta Force on Sunday.

Although it’s early days, the players are concerned with the poor start says Midfielder Lengkat Issah.

Issah who joined the club from Plateau United where he won the league in 2016, told www.Cornerstonenewsng.comthat they are keen to get off the block, even if it means playing for a point on the road against Delta Force.

“Everyone is showing concern with how things have been in the early days of the season,” the Jigawa Stars captain said.

“We’re confident that we can steady the ship and all things being equal when we do, we’ll get things right.

“Today it’s about focusing on the game against Delta Force away from home, we want something from this game, even if it’s just a point.”

Meanwhile, Delta Force are also winless after two games, but have a point, following their 1-1 result against Akwa Starlets in teh first game of the season.
