Joseph Yobo Reveals his Biggest Moment as Super Eagles Captain

Former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo says the biggest moment of his international career was hoisting the Africa Cup of Nations trophy in 2013, “it meant everything to me.”

Yobo, who is Nigeria’s most capped outfield player [101], described the tournament crucial at the time because issues concerning his fitness and he was already considering at international retirement.

 

‘I prayed so hard when we came within touching distance of the trophy. It was my sixth Afcon and though I was not very fit, I was determined to make it count.

 

‘When we won the final and I was handed the trophy, I held on and did not want to let go like it was my Son. It meant everything to me. It capped my career in the national team,’ the former Super Eagles captain relived on Brila FM’s Sports Breakfast Show on Wednesday.
