There was wild jubilation in Amukpe area of Sapele, Delta State, as police neutralized most wanted notorious armed robbery kingpin Diamond (aka Fowlboy).
The kingpin was shot dead after a heavy gun duel between his gang and the police.
According to the police, while Fowlboy was shot dead, other gang members escaped with gunshot injuries.

The police said residents of the community came out in wild jubilation to celebrate the death of Fowlboy who said that his notorious gang has been terrorizing residents of Sapele for some time.
The police also said that they have been on the trail of the gang for a long period of time.

Jubilation as police kill notorious robbery kingpin Diamond in DeltaAccording to Delta State Police Spokesman, Mr. Bright Edafe:” The deadly armed robber met his water-lo on June 26 at about 5:30 am after a distress call was received by Divisional Police Officer of Sapele Division from a tropical area of amukpe Sapele that three-man gang of armed robbers was in the house of one man(name withheld) in Amukpe Sapele. DPO Sapele Division CSP Harrison Nwabuisi, immediately detailed Patrol teams to the scene in conjunction with vigilantes, when the combined team of police and vigilante arrived at the scene; the armed robbers engaged them in a gun duel and the police engaged them to fire for fire. One of the notorious armed robbers who have been terrorizing the Amukpe area of Sapele, Diamond, (a.k.a Fowlboy) was gun down while others escaped with bullet injuries. The injured suspect was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

“Exhibit recovered from the deceased, included: one locally-made gun, a military camouflage Sweater and seven different phones of various make. Serious effort is on with a view to arresting the other fleeing members of the gang.

In another development, Edafe said:” On the previous, a young lady who went to get her children from school parked her vehicle at Regina Mundi, by Ogbe-Ogonogo market, Asaba, and went to pick her children, while she was away, the suspect Chineye Nwakego,33, of Imo state, through the aid of an improvised vehicle door opener, opened the door of the Toyota Camry. After the suspect successfully opened the door, while trying to start the car, he met a steering lock, and as he was trying to remove the steering lock, met the shock of his life, when the owner of the car met him in her vehicle and quickly raised the alarm, which drew the attention of passersby, who arrested him. The angry mob was about lynching him but the timely arrival of ‘A’ Division Asaba patrol team saved the situation, and the suspect was arrested and he is currently being interrogated. The investigation is ongoing.

” Commissioner of Police Delta State Police Command, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, urges residents of the state to avoid crime because, in the end, no criminal will go unpunished. He also urged members of the public to always caution their children by advising them on the need to engage themselves with genuine means of livelihood instead of engaging in crimes. The CP also assures members of the public that the Command will continue the fight against crime in the state.”
