It was wild jubilation in Anambra and the other Southeast States, Nigeria as former Anambra State governor, Mr. Peter Obi, has been picked as the Vice Presidential candidate to the Presidential flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2019 general election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Our correspondent gathered that even though a section of traders at Onitsha main market accused Peter Obi of dumping All Progressive Grands Alliance APGA, the party founded by the warlord, Ikemba Odimegwu Ojukwu, others admitted that Atiku made a good choice.
John Udeh a politician said:” A section of traders who make the large chunks of eligible voters may not support Obi’s appointment because they believed by dumping APGA, he wanted to kill Ojukwu’s legacy.
But others see Obi as most qualified because he is a technocrat, an economist, a banker and an all-rounder with a wealth of experience “.
The news, however , was received with wild jubilation in Imo, Anambra, Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi, Delta States etc.
