Kano Pillars FC has released a statement in the defense of their Captain Rabiu Ali who has been accused of instigating fans against match officials at the Agege stadium, Lagos after the Club’s 1-1 draw with Enugu Rangers in the on going 2018/2019 NPFL super Six playoffs.

However Rabiu Ali was seen confronting the officials and was accused of using derogatory language on the officials, before the fans invaded the pitch.

On the issue, the media manager of the Club, Riliwanu Malikawa, said that people misunderstood the situation because Rabiu was not in anyway fighting with the referee but was just agitating to him that he blew the whistle while time is not over.

“Rabi’u Ali is one of the best behaved players in the League because I can testify to you that throughout his career,  he has not received six yellow cards and that’s to tell you how well behaved he is, Malikawa continued.

Malikawa added that the fans who invaded the pitch were not the fans of the Sai Masu Gida, but a staged gang who wanted to distract the team.

“Nigerians should bear with us Kano Pillars FC fans are the most descliplined in the country, which make the NFF to award them with best behave fans Club Award last year during the NFF/Aiteo Award night.

“So what some football fans did yesterday at Agege stadium is unacceptable and are not the true fans of the ‘Sai Masu Gida’, Malikawa added.
