Schalke have approached Liverpool over the possibility of signing their young Nigeria Under-23s star striker Taiwo Awoniyi, according to reports.
A whole host of European clubs are keen on landing the forward, report the Mirror, who is currently on loan at Mouscron in Belgium.
Schalke are reportedly so keen on getting a deal wrapped up for the frontman that they contacted Jurgen Klopp directly to enquire the striker’s availability.
According to Goal, Liverpool have informed the Bundesliga side that they would need to part with a transfer fee in excess of £10million to sign Awoniyi.
