Maikaba set to land Plateau United job, after talks progress

There are strong indications that former Akwa United Coach Abdul Maikaba is set to be named as the new manager of 2016/17 NPFL champions Plateau United in coming days.

 

Maikaba resigned his position as the Head Coach of The Promise keepers after the expiration of his contract at the end of the just concluded Nigeria Professional Football league 2017/18 season as they finished second with 41 points behind Lobi Stars of Makurdi who was crowned after the league was stopped after 24 matches.

 

However, our source confirmed that the former Wiki Tourist Bauchi held talks with the management of Former Nigeria professional football league champions Plateau United.

“I can confirm that Abdul Maikaba will join Plateau United ahead of the new Nigeria Professional Football League season”

“He will be unveiled as the new technical adviser of the club when the team resume from their holiday break”, the source concluded.

 

Abdul Maikaba qualified Wiki Tourist for champions league after finishing second behind Rangers International of Enugu in 2015/2016 season.

 

The success earned him a move to Akwa United, where he led them to Aiteo cup victory at the expense of Niger Tornadoes of Minna last year, the victory qualified the team for CAF Confederations Cup for the first time in the history of the Club.
