Makinwa warns Eagles against complacency ahead AFCON

Former Super Eagles striker and ex-international, Stephen Ayodele Makinwa has advised players of the Eagles to ensure they do not get carried away as they get set to prepare for AFCON, especially with friendlies against Zimbabwe and Senegal on the cards.

Makinwa, speaking with www.brila.net, also added that he strongly believes the Eagles, given their quality, can do well at the tournament in Egypt, and be better than what the country had before in terms of quality of play and squad depth.

You don’t just jump into conclusions now, that we have this and that…that would be very misleading.

When you are going for a tournament of this nature, you don’t think you have it all or have arrived, that will be the worst mistake we have a good team and fantastic calibre of players, no doubt we have the players.

Yes, they can be more than what we had in the past”.
