Man, 65, defiles minor, says pastor cast spell on him

A 67-year-old man, James Olajoyetan, who was arrested for allegedly defiling a 12- year –old girl at the Ejigbo area of Lagos has blamed a Pastor for his woes.

The suspect told the Police that his misdemeanor as a result of spell cast on him by a pastor. Olajoyetan had raped the victim who came to spend the Sallah holiday with her blind grandfather. Olajoyetan, a widower, was said to have called the girl, pretending to be sending her on an errand and locked the door behind her, and raped her.

The victim told our correspondent that: “When he locked the door, he pushed me to the bed and started bringing out his thing. He forcefully removed my undies; I was shouting, but he used clothes to cover my mouth and started doing it. While he was doing it. I was struggling with him and making some noise which attracted a neighbor who raised the alarm.

” When the woman raised the alarm, other neighbors came out and assisted in apprehending Baba. I am suspecting that he would have killed me after doing it if I was not rescued. He was handed over to the Ejigbo Police Station”.

The suspect, said “ I had a quarrel with a Pastor in Christ Apostolic Church, Kajola. He accused me of being instrumental to his leaving the church and placed a curse on me. He boasted that he had put a heavy spiritual load on my head. He really placed a spiritual load on my head and ensured that I was publicly disgraced.

“Since then, I didn’t know what came over me. I have six children, the first is 35 years while the last is 17 years. I am still shocked that I could rape a child that is much younger than my last child. When the girl came to my house, I gave her N100 and when she hugged me, I immediately lost control. It was a pastor that gave me this public disgrace”.
