Man United Midfielder Kehinde Eyes World Cup Spot After Meeting Rohr

By Johnny Edward:

Manchester United’s Nigerian youngster Tosin Kehinde has met with the Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr ahead of a proposed move to play for Nigeria, his country of birth, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The 19-year-old midfielder was spotted in a picture posted shaking hands with Rohr on Sunday ahead of Nigeria’s international friendly against Serbia in London on Tuesday night.

Kehinde and his father met with Rohr at the Super Eagles’ Crowne Plaza Hotel, Ealing base in London, Completesportsnigeria.com gathered.

“It feels good to have that kind of support back home,” Kehinde told Manchester Evening. “I’ve come close on occasion. All I need to do is continue to work hard

“Of course I’d be elated to play at the World Cup. It’s every footballers dream. Playing at any level for Nigeria would bring me pride. But I believe in myself enough to know I can bring something great to the Super Eagles first team.”

Kehinde trained with the Manchester United’s first team earlier this season and has featured 15 times for the Under-23s in the Premier League 2 for Manchester United, scoring once.

According to Manchester United’s official website, Kehinde is an astute passer of the ball with plenty of positional sense.
