Last season’s finalists, Manchester City have booked a spot in the last four of the UEFA Champions League after a gruelling 90+9 minutes of football in the second leg, Quarter final match against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday.
A 1-0 aggregate win from the first leg at the Etihad Stadium was enough to send Pep Guardiola’s men through as they barely had a glimpse of the opposition goal in Spain.
Manchester City could only managed a shot on goal ( Atletico registered three) at the Wanda although they had almost double the number of dangerous attacks compared to their opponents.
Late on Atletico Madrid were reduced to 10 men and 9 minutes of stoppage time was added but neither side could break the deadlock.
Manchester City advanced to face Real Madrid in the semi final and the first leg holds April 27th at the Etihad Stadium.
