MFM And Enyimba Share The Spoils In Agege

Nigeria Professional Football League ( NPFL ) clubs, MFM and Enyimba shared the spoils in a friendly game at Soccer Temple Agege Stadium on Wednesday.

Enyimba who are preparing for their CAF Confederations Cup game with South Africans side Galaxy confronted the home side with all their big guns.

New MFM coach Tony Bolous who will be making his debut in Nigeria’s top flight league also named a with Kabiru Adeniji leading the attack alongside Clement Ogwu.

However the first failed to provide a goal , despite both side creating several scoring opportunities.

The home side almost took the lead just three minutes into the second half as Joshua Akpudje’s header was cleared by former MFM FC captain Austin Opara.

Minutes later, Joshua Akpudje scored an own-goal to hand the People’s Elephant a 52nd-minute lead , but Akanni Elijah restored parity for the Church boys in the 76th-minute with a superb freekick.

The hosts created further chances to win the game but failed to find a way past Enyimba’s solid defense.

Both side however failed to find the winner and settled for a draw.

Enyimba will play Nasarawa United , while MFM will slug it out with Heartland FC in the opening day fixtures of 2019/2020 Nigeria Professional Football League.
