The decomposed bodies of two University students of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago- Iwoye, Ogun State have been discovered in a bush in Ijebu-Ode Awa\Ibadan Expressway of the state.
AdebisiOriade Adebisi, 22, and his girlfriend, Julian Eke Image, 18, were kidnapped on their way back to school after a visit to their friend at Ijebu-Ode.
A Police source who spoke on the condition of anonymity as he was not authorised to speak, told Conerstone News that : “Sequel to the information received on June 3 , from one Oriade Adeola Rafiu of number 1, Queen Oriade Crescent, Oju-Ore Otta , Ogun state that, on may 28, Oriade Adebisi, was driving in his Honda Crosstour car with registration number, FST 350 FA, together with his girlfriend, Julian Eke Image, at Oru-Ijebu after paying his friend “Akogun” a visit. All of a sudden as he was driving towards Oru junction, three armed men emerged in a motorcycle and took away Oriade Adebisi, his girlfriend and car to the unknown destination.
“On the receipt of this complaint, Operatives of the IGP-Intelligence Response Team(IRT) led by DCP ABBA Kyari in collaborations with Oyo state FSARS and Ogun state police command swiftly swooped on the hoodlums and two of the principal suspects, Muritala Babatunde and Taiwo Rasak, were subsequently arrested. An iPhone X with Etisalat sim and two pairs of shoes belonging to the deceased Adebisi were recovered from the first suspect Babatunde “.
The suspectsBabatunde, 29, a native of Oru Ijebu in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun state confessed to the police: “That he is a university dropout and while in the university, he was initiated into Black Axe confraternity popularly known as “AIYE”. That he is now the number one man in “AIYE” Ijebu-North axis and had in his possession two locally made pistols which his gang members normally use to perpetuate their nefarious acts.
The suspects with arms” He added that on June 28, at about 2300hrs, having noticed Adebisi’s movement along Oru-Ijebu junction , who he had been nursing criminal intents against, he quickly called his gang members (Rasak Taiwo (aka IKU) and Sodiq to meet him at a location where Adebisi and his girlfriend were kidnapped in his car and taken to the bush along Ijebu-ode Awa/Ibadan expressway where both of them were killed.
” He confessed further that before Adebisi was killed, he ordered him to deactivate his password on his iPhone and he took the iPhone and two pairs of shoes from him and thereafter, abandoned the car at the expressway having dumped their lifeless bodies in a bush at the back of an uncompleted building where they were murdered. He confessed that Adebisi, who he claimed was an advance fee fraudsters (Yahoo boy ), was giving money to a rival cult group and was not giving him money. He also accused Adebisi of not recognising him as the overall cult leader in the area. He said the anger of not paying homage to him made him kill Adebisi and his girlfriend “.
On his own, Taiwo Rasak, 18, from Imota in Ikorodu LGA of Lagos state also confessed that he has initiated into Aiye confraternity in 2015 and that he went to live with Babatunde at Oru-Ijebu who is the number one in the confraternity.
He further told the police that:” 0n may 5, in the late hour of the night, our leader, Babatunde called him and one Sodiq (cult member) to meet him at Oru junction. On our arrival, Babatunde told us that he wanted to kill Adebisi who ran away with his money. Babatunde, then called his girlfriend, Seun Yetunde, who had been monitoring Adebisi’s movement and she brought a bag that contained two guns and a cutlass. Babatunde gave me one of the guns and handed over the cutlass to Sodiq. We waited patiently for him to come. Few minutes, Adebisi and his girlfriend arrived in a car.
“We based him down with a gun.As we forced him to stop, Babatunde took over the steering, he ordered Adebisi and the girl to the backseat. Sodiq and I were also in the back seat with the victims. We took them to the bush along the expressway where we have killed them with planks and gun. We hit them with planks after which Babatunde and I shot them with our guns”.
The police said the decomposing bodies of Adebisi and his girlfriend were recovered on June 19 and deposited at the General Hospital’s morgue Ijebu ode for an autopsy. The police added that Adebisi’s car was also recovered and parked at Awa police division and the guns the hoodlums used were also recovered.
The police said they were investigating to know how many people the gang had killed.
