We must  kill Leah Sharibu if government fails to pay us - B'H

Boko Haram insurgent group has vowed to kill Leah Sharibu, the schoolgirl abducted seven months ago if the Federal Government fails to pay the ransom.

Leah-Sharibu

A  faction of Boko Haram, Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) said she may be killed in the next one month
Sharibu was abducted alongside 118 other students of Government Girls Secondary School, Dapchi, Yobe State, in February.

While the Federal Government negotiated the release of 104 of her mates one month later, she has remained in captivity. She was held because she refused to renounce her faith.

To show seriousness,  Boko Haram has killed Saifura Ahmed, one of the three humanitarian workers abducted in Rann, Kala Balge Local Government Area of Borno State.

Saifura was abducted during a raid on a military facility in the area on March 1where  four soldiers, policemen, and three humanitarian workers were killed in the attack.

Hauwa Leman, one of the workers abducted, had sent an audio message to one of her friends, demanding that her parents be informed that she had been kidnapped.

Following the murder of Ahmed, Leman and Alice Ngaddah, a mother of two, are the ones in captivity among the three people abducted from Rann on March 1.

While the deceased worked with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the survivors were the staff of UNICEF.

In a video, the deceased was wearing a white hijab. She was shot from behind.

Boko Haram said: “We contacted the government through writing and also sent audio messages but the government ignored us.

So, here is a message of blood. The other nurse and midwife will be executed in a similar manner in one month, including Leah Sharibu.”

Last month, an audio of Sharibu appealing to President Muhammadu Buhari to rescue her was obtained. ISWAP has kept her in captivity for seven months, sparking public outrage.

The federal government said it was making efforts to secure her release.

Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to Nigeria’s international partners and everyone with an influence on terrorist sect, Boko Haram to prevail on them “to stop these acts of extreme barbarism.”

Meanwhile, a rights activist, John Mark, has called on President Donald Trump of the United States of America to assist  Nigeria in the fight against insurgents.

Mark said:” America is the Police of the world and a strong fighter of the insurgency. An American president should not only condemn what is happening in the northeast of Nigeria but assist in the war

As it is we, including our military, have been overwhelmed by Boko Haram insurgents. Let America wade into the issue and save us from the monster that is killing and displacing us at will”.
