My time with MFM coming to an end – Ilechukwu

The Coach of MFM FC Fidelis Ilechukwu has revealed that he’s not expecting the Club to win the title soon because of the Club’s philosophy to breed young players and promote them into the main team.

Ilechukwu has had a torrid time holding on to his best players after watching the likes of Stephen Odey, Chuckwuka Onuwa, Peter Ubakanma, Sikiru Olatunbosun, Ospino Egbe, Ifeayin Ifeayin and others joining rivals or moving outside the shore of the country.

“As a coach, you can’t lose a lot of players each season. We struggle a lot without quality players and to me it’s painful.”

“In a team, if you have about four new young players, it’s not bad. But when over eighty percent of the team are young players, the NPFL is tough.

“However, I have to accept it because of the philosophy of the club in terms of breeding and repositioning ”

The gaffer, however, added that though he wishes to win a title with the Club he has spend 14 years of his career, he believes his time with the Club is coming to an end.

“I have been in it for 14 years and I am coming close to the end. I want to win titles but with the structure at MFM, it will be difficult.”

MFM are third on the log of Nigeria Professional Football League Group B with 24 points from 16 games.
