Naija Ratels Chairman Donates N60,000 To Confluence Queens

Naija Ratels Chairman, Barrister Paul Edeh has rewarded Confluence Queens with a cash gift of N60,000 for their superlative performance at the on-going Flying Officers Cup in Abuja.

The mogul made the gift on Thursday after the New Direction Queens walloped Honey Badgers 7-0 but crashed out of the competition despite picking four points in a group that also have Bayelsa Queens and Nasarawa Amazons.

According to Barrister Edeh, the gift was a social responsibility initiative to acknowledge the exploits of Confluence Queens at the competition, and stimulate them to perform whilst promoting and encouraging sports development in Nigeria.

“You really made me very proud. This pre season isn’t all about winning alone but the lessons learnt,” Barrister Paul Edeh stated while addressing the girls.

“Imagine if you lost out in the league itself. I think what this has done is for you to go back home and prepare better.”

“I saw the resilience, fighting spirit and all that you kept doing.”

“On this day you decided to thrash my darling Honey Badgers. I want you continue being positive when the league gets underway.

“I’m making a donation of N60,000 to Confluence Queens, the gift will be handed over to your Team Manager,” he declared.

“We would have more time to interact and share life experience. We would visit the Nigeria Army Museum on Friday.”

Confluence Queens Team Manager Ojo Oluwatosin speaking on the donation said: “On behalf of Confluence Queens, I want to say thank you Barrister Edeh.”

“We really appreciate your efforts. If not for your efforts we won’t be in this tournament. We are leaving with our shoulders high. Despite the fact that we didn’t qualify for the semi finals the essence of coming to this tournament has been achieved. It’s left for us to go back and correct our mistakes

“I think if we have people like you in women’s football, we would get there. Once again, we appreciate your efforts.

The Lokoja based side really thrilled with their brand of soccer but were unlucky to bow out of the tournament with four points, one behind second placed Bayelsa Queens. Nasarawa Amazons topped the group with seven points.
