Vice President of the Nigeria Cricket Federation Uyi Akpata has stated that the NCF is very proud to have been considered by the International Cricket Council as one of the countries to host the ICC world cup trophy tour for three days from the 11th to the 13th of February which is even more than the usual one or two days the trophy spends in most countries it tours.
Akpata speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the recognition given to the Nigeria Cricket Federation by the world Cricket governing body is an attestation of what the current board of the NCF has given to the governance of the Federation in just 18 months of coming on board and constantly getting in touch with the ICC in most of their programs and plans for the Federation which has attracted the attention of the ICC.
He thereafter said that this will further encourage the Federation to work even harder and also help open up Nigerian Cricket to the world.
He also added that the tour beyond Cricket will project Nigeria in terms of tourism opportunity and a nation that embraces many sports.
