Ndidi, Iheanacho help Leicester City set a new Club record win

Super Eagles duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho helped Leicester City set a new club record after playing important role in 4-1 demolition of Aston Villa in Sunday’s English premier league game at Villa Park.

While Ndidi has been ever present in the Foxes starting eleven, Iheanacho was making his first league start of the season in over a year.

Iheanacho who scored his first league in over twelve months against Everton last Sunday continued from where he left off by setting up the opener for Jamie Vardy.

The former Manchester City youngster turned the next scorer himself after he diverted James Maddison’s cross into the Villa’s net for Leicester second.

Villa Captain Jack Grealish hauled the deficit, but Jonny Evans restored the Foxes two goals advantage with a looping header, before Vardy’s second sealed the comfortable win for the visitors.

The victory means Leicester have now won their last eight Premier League games in a row – their best-ever winning run in their top-flight history.

Leicester City Coach Brendan Rodgers said : “It was a real historic day for us. To surpass the club record of seven straight wins in the top flight was fantastic for us and it was a performance to match that.”

“I think the beauty of today was that we had two counter-attack goals, a long period of possession for the second and a set-piece goal, so we showed different ways to score goals.”

“We know we have the mentality and the stamina in the team to keep going.”
