New Ogun CP assures of adequate security

The new Commissioner of Police in charge of Ogun State Police Command, CP Kenneth Ebirison has assured indigenes of adequate security.
CP Ebirison also, warned criminals, especially armed robbers, to leave the state or risk the wrath of the Force.


This is even as the Command arrested a man, Blessing Adedeji, for leading an armed robbery gang that has been terrorising the people of the state.
The gang specialized in robbing commuters along Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.

The suspect was arrested by policemen on surveillance patrol at Magboro area of the Expressway, led by the DPO Ibafo division, SP Abiodun Ayinde.
The Ogun State police public relations officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect was sighted by the policemen in traffic gridlock occasioned by construction work going on in the area, while he and other gang members were attacking occupants of a Toyota Camry car with a knife.
He said the gang succeeded in dispossessing a victim, Mosurat Ologundudu, of her Techno Camon-12 phone and purse containing N3,000.


He said: “On sighting the policemen, the suspect and his gang members took to his heels, but they were given a hot chase and the suspect was apprehended while other gang members escaped. The robbed items were recovered from him and released to the owner.


“Meanwhile, CP Ebrimson has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Special Anti Robbery Squad ( SARS), for discreet investigation. The CP, therefore, assured commuters plying the road of adequate security at all times”.
