Nigeria is the team to beat in Table Tennis in Africa and the world – Coach Bello Nosiru

Nigeria national team table tennis Coach, Bello Nosiru has disclosed that athletes based in Lagos States have commenced an opened camp which is voluntary for the table tennis players ahead of a closed camp scheduled for October 3rd, 2019 in preparation for the 2019 World table tennis Junior championship.
Coach Bello told brila.net that the closed camp will be used to monitor the players who will undergo an international training program that will guide them.

“when they resume the closed camp between Oct. 2nd/3rd we have to monitor them because preparing for a world championship is not overnight, we have to check and balance them before they leave for Egypt.”

On the rivalry between Nigeria and Egypt and another possible challenge team Nigeria will face at the World championship, coach Bello expressed his unwavering confidence stating that Nigeria table tennis players are currently dominating Africa and are equal to the task ahead “In Table tennis in Africa now Egypt does not stand a chance against Nigeria.

“We do not have any challenge with our junior team, there is no tournament we go for that we don’t win.”

However, coach highlighted the issue of finance as the major challenge facing the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation.

“We ask the ministry of youths and sport to help the NTTF with the necessary resources if these young players can resume camp a few weeks before the championship in Egypt they will make the podium.”
