NPPF lists 53 athletes for camping in Lagos

The Nigeria Para Powerlifting Federation (NPPF) has revealed 53-man list which are expected to camp ahead of the 2019 International Para Powerlifting Championship,  scheduled for 24th to 31st January, 2019.

The athletes are expected to be in three weeks close camping under the watchful eyes coach Prince Are Feyisetan, Assistant coaches, Patience Igbiti, Oluwakemi Gbadebo and seven others at the Mainbowl of the National stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

Feyisetan who is also the technical director of the federation, said the athletes were selected from just concluded National Sports Festival Abuja 2018.

Currently, we have 53 Para Powerlifters in Camp preparing for the International Championships in Lagos. The squad consists of 40 senior athletes (20 male and 20 female), while the junior athletes are 13 (5 male and 8 female)

He added that the nation’s para athletes will do well at the championship.

He said, ¡°Because of our standard in the World, Nigeria will be able to win the highest number of medals and we believe the championships will help us have standard powerlifting equipments and facilities.
