Ogu Dreams Third Israeli League Title With Hapoel

By Johnny Edward:

Super Eagles midfielder John Ogu is dreaming of a third league title with Hapoel Beer Sheva when Israeli Championship play-off round kicks off this weekend reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The top six teams from the regular season will compete for honours where they will play each other twice with the first placed team winning the Israeli Championship and qualifying to participate in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League.

The runners-up and third place teams will qualify for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League.

Hapoel Beer Sheva will face Bnei Yehuda in their first game of the Championship play off round on Sunday.
Ogu, a winner of the Israeli league title in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 season with Hapoel Beer Sheva admits the outgoing season has been tougher for the Camels who narrowly won the regular season by just one point.

“This season has been very tough and I think the same thing will apply to the playoffs,”Ogu told CSN.

“I’m looking forward to it because it comes with a chance of winning another title. It’s not going to be easy but I believe we can achieve something special.”

Other teams to compete in the Championship play-off round include Maccabi Netanya, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Hapoel Haifa, Beitar Jerusalem and Bnei Yehuda.

Ogu who has been included in Nigeria’s 28-man squad for next week’s international friendlies against Poland and Serbia is expected to join his teammates in camp on Monday in Wroclaw,Poland.
