Ogunjobi’s death shocking, sad – Dr. Larry Izamoje

The Chairman/CEO of Brila Media, Dr. Larry Izamoje has expressed deep sadness and shock over the passing of Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, the former Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Association.

The veteran broadcaster recalled that in the early days of Sports Radio Brila FM, he worked closely with the former FA Secretary General and he was always ready to listen and talk to brila.

“When I heard the sad story on Monday, I was so dumbfounded,”

“Chief Ogunjobi was so close to us, there was no time we went to him that he didn’t talk to us” says Dr. Larry.

“It is just shocking, and really really sad that a man who lived for football, a man who did everything for the round leather game is no more”.

Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi during his lifetime was a Nigeria International, he also captained the Shooting Stars FC of Ibadan in the 80’s.

Up till the time of his death, Chief Ogunjobi was the Osun state FA  chairman, and in the past, he has held top administrative positions in the Football fraternity as a  one-time Chairman of the NFF Technical Committee, and as the Secretary General of the then Nigeria Football Association.

It was gathered that Mr Ogunjobi was last seen in the public last Wednesday at the Oshogbo Township stadium when he watched the Week 7 NPFL match between Remo Stars and MFM FC.
