Ojo Olorunleke hails Akwa United’s decision to hire Everton as manager

Akwa United goal-keeper Ojo Olorunleke has hailed the decision of the  Club to appoint Brazilian Rafael Everton as the new technical adviser of the team.

Akwa United unveiled the former FC Ifeayin Ubah manager in Uyo on Monday as the replacement for Abdul Maikaba who left to join 2017 NPFL champions Plateau United after the expiration of his contract with the Promise Keepers.

 

However, the Kogi born Olorunleke told brila.net’s Oluwaseyi Alao the players are delighted to have Everton on their side come next season.

 

“I believe the management of the went for the person they feel is good and the best for the team, because Akwa Utd is a club that anyone would like to coach because of the quality of the team and the calibre of players.

 

So, I’m happy and also the entire team is happy having him around. Ours is to support his coming by playing well. So, I pray that his time will attract God’s Favor upon the team.” He told brila.net

 

Akwa United won the 2017 Aiteo Cup after beating Niger Tornadoes, the Club also finished second in the Nigeria professional football league last season under the tutelage of Abdul Maikaba and expecting to challenge for titles under the Brazilian.
