Okereke bags second Serie A goal of the season

David Okereke and his compatriot Cyriel Dessers were in action for Cremonese in another huge game against Inter Milan at San Siro on Tuesday.

The duo started up front for the fourth time as the newly-promoted side continued their search for first their first point of the campaign.

The Nigerians linked up well, but Inter Milan’s defense was far too superior for them.

Inter Milan drew the first blood after Cremonese goalkeeper parried Edin Dzeko’s shot into the path of Angel Correa

Nicolo Barella got the second in specular fashion when his perfect volley from the edge of the area on a Hakan Calhanoglu pass, flew to the back of the net.

Cremonese best chance to pull one back in the second half fell to Dessers after Okereke located him with a pass inside the box, only for the Belgian-born forward to attempt an overhead kick when he should use his head.

Cremonese manager however decided to withdraw the 27-year-old forward a few minutes after the miss.

Barrela then provided the assist for Inter Milan’s third scored by substitute Lautaro Martinez, before Okereke later grabbed a consolation for the visitors with a beautiful curler.

It was Okereke’s second goal in four games, while Dessers still waiting for his first goal.
