Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina has backed the duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Semi Ajayi to return to the national team set up in future after missing out on the final AFCON squad released by Coach Gernot Rohr.
Aina who told brila.net in an interview revealed that he spoke to Iheanacho and Semi Ajayi separately, not to give up and that, there are better days ahead for them to bounce back strongly in subsequent tournaments.
“It’s unfortunate concerning the whole thing, I had spoken to them to get their ass together when the seasons resume and I think they will bounce back,” Aina said.
Nigeria are up against Burundi’s Itamba Ru Mugamba, Guinea’s Syli Nationale and Madagascar’s Barea in Group B of the 32nd Africa Cup of Nations, with Alexandria as the venue.
