Oshoala delighted to bag Hat-trick against Equatorial Guinea

Super Falcons attacker, Asisat Oshoala says she’s delighted to score an hat-trick in Nigeria’s 6:0 win over rivals Equatorial Guinea in last Group B of the ongoing 11th AWCON in Ghana.

The reigning African Queens bounced back from disappointing opening day defeat to the Bayana Bayana of South Africa to beat the Shepolopolo of Zambia and Nzalang National of Equatorial Guinea to finished second in Group B and advanced to the semi-final.

Oshoala who was named as woman of the Match was at the centre of the victory over Daniel Lola’s side, scoring a first half hatrick after Francisca Ordega scored the opening goal in the 8th minutes.

“It is a good thing to get the complete three points for the team, obviously that’s the most important thing even as I’m happy to get on the score sheet ,.It’s good to start the tournament with three goals. I’ve been working so hard, so I deserve it and I’m grateful to my teammates.” She said after the game.

The reigning African player of the year was full of praises for her teammates for their response after the opening day defeat.

I’m happy for my teammates with work everyone has put in with the determination even after losing the first game to South Africa here in Cape Coast, we didn’t give up, we just spoke to ourselves and showed we are champions and leader in Africa. We are improving“. She added.

The Falcons will now face Cameroon in the semi-finals on Tuesday.
