Pinnick Reacts To His Removal As CAF 1st Vice President

Congolese football administrator Omari Constant has been choose to replace Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Pinnick as the first vice president of Confederation of African football (CAF).

Pinnick’s tenure as First Vice-president alongside that of the 2nd and 3rd Vice Presidents expired and they were replaced following CAF Congress Executive meeting in Cairo on Thursday.

President of Morrocan FA Fouzi Lakjaa was voted as the new 2nd vice president of CAF and South African Danny Jordan emerged as the 3rd Vice president respectively.

Pinnick has been in the news for corruption allegations levelled against him and it is on that ground, that CAF President Ahmad Ahmad refused to proposed his tenure renewal to the executive council.

While reacting to the development, Pinnick said he’s grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the development of African football.

“It has however been an excellent opportunity to serve as the number two football administrator in the entire African continent and my commitment to the game is perpetual while my support for my colleagues in the Executive Committee remains steadfast.

 

I congratulate, Omari, Lekja and Danny on the assumption of their new roles as 1st, 2nd and 3rd Vice CAF Presidents respectively”. He said.
