The Anambra State Police Command has arrested four suspects over a robbery attack on Prince Charles Hotel, Isuanuocha in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Haruna Mohammed, said:” On July 7, Engr. Nwammadu Charles of Prince Charles Hotel Isuanuocha in Awka North LGA of Anambra State reported at Mgbaku police out- Station that at about 1:am, hoodlums climbed over the hotel fence and allegedly robbed some customers of their phones and other valuables. The preliminary investigation led to the arrest of four suspects with the aid of a CCTV camera installed by the hotel management.

“Meanwhile, the case is under investigation and the suspects are assisting the police with useful information that will aid investigation after which those found wanting would be brought to book.
“Consequently, the Commissioner of Police (CP) John B. Abang, further reiterated his clarion call on all hoteliers in the State to as a matter of urgency install CCTV Cameras in hotel premises and also do background checks on their staff as a proactive measure to enhance safety and security at their respective hotels and to avert similar incident please”
Gunmen suspected to be robbers numbering about on Sunday night, raided the Hotel, and allegedly raped two female guests.
It was gathered that the robbers carted away valuables including cash before they left the hotel premises. They were said to have threatened to kill anyone in the hotel who put up resistance while they carried out their nefarious acts.
