The Katsina State Police Command has nabbed two suspected members of a syndicate that was giving information about victims to kidnappers.
The suspects, Bilyaminu Ma’aruf, 35, and Sani Umaru, 40, were described by the police as notorious informants to bandits.
Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer( PPRO) SP Gambo Isah, said: “In the course of the investigation, the suspects confessed to have masterminded the kidnappings of many residents of Dutsinma area including that of Amina Usman,20, of Dutsinma in which the sum of N900,000 was paid to the kidnappers as a ransom and the sum of N20,000 was given to them as their share of the crime.
“Furthermore, they also confessed to have provided information to bandits that led to the kidnapping of Amina Shu’aibu, 22, of the same address, who later escaped from the hands of the bandits and several other similar kidnappings incidents in the area.The investigation is ongoing”
