Police rescue 3 victims from kidnappers on New year eve in Delta

The Delta State Police Command has rescued three victims from the hands of kidnappers who were dragging them into the bush on New year eve.
The victims, who the police described as lucky as they would have spent the New year in the kidnappers den, have since been reunited with their families.
According to Delta State Police Publlic Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Bright Edafe, “while police operatives attached to Orerokpe Division,were on visibility patrol duty along Warri/Sapele road by Okuvo and Egborede Communities, they sighted some persons being dragged into the bush. The operatives suspected that they might have been kidnapped, and trailed them into the bush.
“The hoodlums, who suspected that the policemen were closing in on them, opened fire on the team, and the policeman equally fired back. The hoodlums ,who could not withstand the firepower of the operatives, abandoned their captives, and escaped. The victims (names withheld), 40, 54, and 49, respectively, were rescued unhurt, and have been reunited with their families”
Mr. Edafe said that the police have declared serious manhunt for the fleeing suspects .
In another development, Edafe ,said on the previous day, while police operatives attached to ‘A’ division Warri, were on stop and search duty infront of Daudu police outpost, Kpesu community Warri, they sighted a tricycle driving against traffic.
” In an attempt to stop them, the suspects dangerously maneuvered the tricycle, and escaped, but in the process, a black handbag fell off from the tricycle. When our men searched the bag, one locally made pistol was recovered. We are making efforts to arrest the fleeing suspects”.
