Remo Stars must pick a point in Minna, Says Boboye

Former Plateau United coach Kennedy Boboye has backed his Remo Stars players after the team played out a 1-1 in their opening game of Nigeria professional football players on Sunday.

Victor Mbaoma scored in the 74th minutes to rescue a point for the Sky Blues after Charles Omokaro had put Bendel insurance of Benin ahead.

Boboye who replaced Fatai Osho as the head coach of the team with less than 72 hours to the game told Brila.net’s Seyi Alao the players he inherited are good but didn’t rule out signing more when the transfer window reopened.

“The players are good enough, coach Fatai Osho has done well and I must commend him”.

“The players are not the reason we didn’t win but I don’t want to talk about the decision of the referee on goal he disallowed and I’m happy with the players but we will only improve the team when the transfer window reopens.

The former Plateau United manager added that the Club has put the disappointment of the home with insurance behind them and suggests that they must fight for a point in their next game away to Niger Tornadoes on Wednesday.

“We have to go to Minna and fight for a point as well just like the way insurance did here and we must make sure we come back with something.”
