Respect Victor Moses’ retirement decision, Udeze urges fans

Former Super Eagles defender Ifeanyi Udeze has called on Nigerian Football fans to respect Victor Moses’ decision to quit the National team even at a young age of 27.

The former PAOK Saloniki of Greece defender made his points while responding to the mixed reactions that followed the shock retirement announcement made by the Chelsea player on Wednesday.

“It’s a massive call by Moses”

“I believe he must have considered every possible thing before reaching the decision”

“He said he wants to focus on his club football and young family”

“I think we all should respect decision, and wish him all the best in his future endeavours”

Udeze, who was also forced to retire early from International football due to a stubborn knee injury said players go through a whole lot which sometimes affect their performance on the pitch.

The former West Bromwich Albion defender also used the opportunity to thank Victor Moses for his contributions to the Nigeria Football over the years.

Moses represented Nigeria on 37 occasions, scoring 12 goals in the process.

The former Wigan and Crystal Palace forward played at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, just after winning the 2013 AFCON under the leadership of Late Stephen Keshi.

He was also a member of the Gernot Rohr-led Super Eagles squad at the recently concluded 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia where he scored Nigeria’s lone goal in the loss against Argentina.
