Rivers Angels captain Cecilia Nku has described the team’s run at the recently concluded NWPL Super 4 as unlucky as the Aiteo Cup winners finished 4th scoring a single goal in 3hours of football.
In a chat with brila.net Nku rued the missed opportunity to add more silverware to last season’s Cup win, but expressed an air of confidence that they can bounce back stronger next season.
Meanwhile, She also dismissed suggestions that the team is aging and were overrun by a younger Nasarawa Amazons and Sunshine Queens sides.
Adetunji keen to help Lobi Stars reach CAF CL Final
Last season Sunday Adetunji helped Enyimba reach the semi-final of the Confederation Cup, with Lobi Stars the forward says he has set a target of playing in the final of the Champions League this season.
Adetunji joined Lobi on loan from Abia Warriors on a season-long deal and he has told brila.net that he hopes to improve on his record from his last continental adventure.
So far, he’s made two appearances for the club in the win against Mamelodi Sundowns and the narrow 1-0 defeat to ASEC Mimosa in Abidjan.
