Rivers Utd players set to return to winning ways after salary cut

Rivers United players have been handed a salary cut following a string of poor results in the NPFL which got even worse with a 2-1 home defeat to Wikki Tourists of Bauchi in a matchday 12 fixture.

Disclosing this to brila.net, a player in the team, David Ogar noted that the club’s management took that decision to get the shape up even as he noted that the entire squad have resolved to bounce back to winning ways from the next match.
“Nobody is happy about our current form, losing three matches in a row has not happened to us this season. So after the result yesterday, the management came up with the idea of not paying full salary until they turn things around.
That was the decision of the management as at this morning. They said we have to awaken our spirit and lost sight of why we are here hence the decision to give us a pay-cut.”
