Gunmen suspected to be robbers numbering about three, on Sunday night, raided a hotel (name withheld) in Isuaniocha community, Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State and raped two female guests.
It was gathered that the robbers carted away valuables including cash before they left the hotel premises. They were said to have threatened to kill anyone in the hotel who put up resistance while they carried out their nefarious acts.
A resident in the area who craved anonymity told our correspondent that the hotel workers were taken unaware by the daredevil criminals who ransacked every part of the hotel looking for valuables.
They subsequently pounced on the two female guests in the hotel and forcefully had carnal knowledge of them before they horridly left the premises with their loot.
The resident said: “Armed robbers visited the hotel Sunday night and stole valuable items. They took the money they made for the day. They also stole their phones and other important items they could get.
“They went into the hotel building and raped two female guests they saw there. Everybody in the hotel that moment surrendered to them because they were armed”, the source narrated.
