Gunmen suspected to be armed robbers Sunday night, raided Stadium hotel, Ilorin, Kwara State, killing one person and injuring many.
The yet to be identified man that was killed was one of the Lodgers in the hotel located along Sultan Road, Off Taiwo Road, Ilorin.
A witness said: “The robbers numbering about five, wearing black clothes stormed
the hotel at around 8:40 pm Sunday night and started shooting sporadically at anyone on sight. We scampered for safety. The gunmen ransacked everywhere and robbed customers of their belongings, including phones, money, and other valuables. Six of us hid inside the toilet.
” When we came out after the robbery, we met the lifeless body of a middle-aged man on the floor. The hotel manager was also lying in the pool of his own blood. The manager was immediately rushed to Ilorin General Hospital for treatment”.
The Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ajayi Okasanmi, said no life was lost during the robbery incident.

Okasanmi said that the command had begun an investigation into the robbery attack, promising that the suspects would soon be apprehended.
He said that three persons; the hotel manager, Barman, and one other person were shot by the robbers, adding that the victims were receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
