Roberto Carlos names Finidi George among his toughest opponents ever

Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos has picked Super Eagles legend Finidi George and among the toughest players, he faced during his career.

Roberto Carlos and Finidi George came up against each other during their days in the Spanish LA Liga, with the Nigerian winger donning the jersey of Real Betis.

The Brazilian full-back who was regarded as one of the best left-back in the world faced a lot of wingers in his illustrious Selecao and Real Madrid career before quitting the game.

However while speaking in a live Instagram session with FIFA, the former Inter Milan midfielder said Finidi George, Samuel Eto’o and Luis Figo the toughest he faced in his career.

“I had several, like Eto’o, Finidi, and Joaquín,” the Brazilian defender told FIFA Instagram Live via Mucho Deporte.

Finidi and Carlos almost joined Real Madrid in the same year, but the 1994 African cup of Nations winner decided to shun a move to the Los Merengues in the favor of the Basque club side.

Roberto Carlos on his part joined the team from Inter Milan and was named UEFA Club Defender of the Year twice, winning four La Liga titles and three Champions League honours before leaving the Spanish giants.
